FRANSKRAAL:
Franskraal-strand, also known as Franskraal, is a coastal village near Gansbaai in the Western Cape. Franskraal, at the edge of the Gansbaai area, is an unpretentious seaside village that at its western extreme is hugging the neighbouring Kleinbaai. Franskraal has situated about 6 km to the south-east of Gansbaai. It lies between the neighbouring Kleinbaai to the west and the mouth of the Uilskraals River to the east. The R43 road passes along the northern edge of the village.

Franskraal falls within the Overstrand Local Municipality. Franskraal has a good infrastructure, well managed by a highly functional municipality.
Overstrand residents can still enjoy a breather on water restrictions as there is not an immediate need to reduce water usage

Franskraal has a long sand-beach crossing the outlet of the Uilskraals-estuary, a known birding hotspot. Just next to the first row of houses of Franskraal is the entrance to a smaller but old milkwood dominated forest. The marked "Groot Melkhoutbos Trail" is open to the public.

The Franskraal Museum in the village contains the artefacts of the HMS Birkenhead, which was wrecked in 1852 off Danger Point.
